It is only the beginning.

The end. The end is always a beginning of something new, as they always say. It is true to a certain extent, at least in my case. Today's the last day of the month of May, and today also marks the last day of my 1st year 2nd semester. Means i've completed my 1st Year of uni. And also, it's the beginning of the exam period, starting from next Friday onwards.

*eyes wide-opened*

Got back my journalism 2nd assignment. Did very badly for it. Just a pass (Yes i know, i have high expectations for myself to do well). Oh wells, i just gotta study extra harder for the final exam. Damn it. Hardnews writing is SO NOT ME. Feature writing IS. Oh well, i guess i express myself better in a more descriptive and lyrical way of writing. That's my style. ;)

Yesterday was the opposite of today. Got back my media studies major assignment (which is worth a whooping 40% of the whole course) and i got my first HD! HD as in High Distinction, the highest one can ever get in terms of marks. I felt elated and was basically euphoric and soaked in exhilaration. "Nothing is impossible", that's what i always believe in. (:

Life is weird, or should i say strange. One day you feel as though you're on cloud nine, and the next day you'll find yourself falling flat on your face without any warnings. Rollercoaster ride? Definitely man. So better make sure you have your seatbelts on before you close your eyes and scream your lungs out. It's not nice to realize that you've fell flat on your face after that, trust me.

"Even the best fall down sometimes...Even the stars refuse to shine." There are good days and bad days. Yesterday was good. Today isn't that good. Tomorrow will be better. I hope. :/

As for now, the only thing i can afford to do now is to solely concentrate on my exams (3 papers!) and hopefully I can achieve what i wanna achieve. Will be keeping my fingers crossed from today onwards.

Need to brush up on my Contemporary Worlds knowledge. Think key terms like Glasnost, Iron Curtain, Gorbachev, Atlantic Charter, Blitzkrieg, Bolshevik, Four Freedoms, Fourteen Points, and Dekulakisation. That's what Contemporary Worlds One is all about. And boy, i'm aiming for a D for this subject overall. Wish me luck!

As for media studies, I'm hoping and aiming for a HD. So wish me luck too!

Must get at least a C or better still a D (if i'm really lucky) for Newsroom Practice and Theory. Wish me luck for this paper as well!

As for American Music, the exam was one week ago. Pretty okay i would say. Just hope that everything goes well for my 2nd assignment, that's the most important thing. And yup, i'm hoping for a D as well.

*keeping all her fingers and toes crossed for all her subjects*

See? I'm so kiasu. Ooooohhh La La.

*chanting a prayer*

Today ain't that bad after all, at least i got my Baskins. Thank God For Baskins Robbins. Good ice-cream makes me a happy girl once again. ;)

"Study smart, not hard."

P.S.: Might not blog that frequently since my first paper is on next Friday. If you happen to be lucky, you might see a new post. If not, you'll see a new post after my exams which is on the 15th of June. For the time being, please be good people! 15th of June is not too far away... till then!

what a week

First and foremost, for those of you who are still in the dark or not observant in my blog, I was and still am sick since last weekend. Oh well, i dunno what has gotten into my body, and god knows what happened to all my antibodies, i contracted flu, fever, and cough since last weekend. People say good things always come in pairs, but how bout the not-so-good things? o.O As i was all alone at home last weekend, i felt terribly ill on Saturday night. So ill that i could actually persuade myself to crawl into bed by 10pm. However, by 1am, i felt even more ill. I felt as though my body's on fire and my forehead's burning like wild fire. Thank God Bernard stays in usj as well. He saved my life. He sent me to this 24hr clinic and i paid a very high price for my medicine. *booohooo

Bernard, if you're reading this, thanks for dabao-ing dinner and the lift to the doc. You saved my life you know? ; )

Besides that, i would like to thank Kai the dude as well. Thanks for letting me to tumpang ur car when i'm not feeling so well! Thanks for dabao-ing lunch for me when i'm really sick! (:

At this very moment, i am still feeling sick and i dunno why. I've finished the antibiotics the doc gave to me. No more fever, no more flu, no more cough. I just feel sick, nauseous, and giddy. Maybe there's not much oxygen in my red blood cells. Or maybe I don't breathe hard enough. And i realized i've been breathing very shallowly nowadays. Is there something wrong with me? o.O

Last wednesday was the day where I finally sat for the American Music and Popular Culture (my elective) final exam. The listening part was pretty easy and funny. Don't ask me why i think it's funny. I just find it funny. Part 2 was considered relatively easy as well, thank God for protest music. *heeeeheeee

Yesterday was the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End. Everyone loves Captain Jack Sparrow. =) Watched the Pirates with Adeline, Grace, Namie, Kai, and Peter at the 1Utama new wing cinema. Nice cinema, comfy seats but super-cold air-cond. *brrrr At least the outing was fun and random. ;)

And today, i've finally handed in the last assignment of this semester - American Music major assignment. Chose a relatively easy question but the stuff in my assignment was pretty tedious and well, boring. Blues versus jazz. John Lee Hooker versus Louis Armstrong. Sad to say, i'm not a fan of both. Oh well, at least i'm DONE with my elective. *clap hands

By the way, i'm currently at my uncle's place in Kota Damansara now. My bro is here with me as well. And the parents and sister are arriving from JB tomorrow afternoon. Yup, there'll be a lil Lim family reunion going on tomorrow. I miss the Lims a lot. (:

Ok, i think that's about it. What a week indeed. Just need to cross my fingers and pray hard that i'll do fairly well (hoping for a D, HD is out) for American Music.

P.S.: ONLY 2 more weeks to my finals!!! *Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!*

zen is good

Zen Japanese restaurant. A somehow high-class-catered-for-working-class-adults Japanese restaurant. Very very different from other japanese outlets like Sushi King, Sakae Sushi and Genki Sushi. Zen serves authentic and high-quality (i swear) japanese food. The restaurant has a classy ambience and elegant feel to it. Definitely a good place to enjoy good (but slightly pricey) japanese food.

;)

Pretty-looking food. *satisfying smile*

See the amount of unagi they served? Generous indeed. The boyfriend was happily eating away his unagi while i was chomping down my raw sushi platter. =)

the week that was.

Hi people! I nearly forgotten that i own a blog. Ok, that's a lie. I was actually very busy for the last two weeks. Let's start from last, last weekend. So, here it goes...

Last, last weekend.
The Lims drove up to KL all the way from JB. 3 of them: the mother, the sister, and the brother. Spent 2 nights at Aunty Yoke Chang's house. Yup, she's teck jian's mummy. It was a good weekend, with good food, good company. I was of course, very well fed. Hehe. We had chijlis and this very good seafood steamboat. Thanks to teck jian's family who brought us to the seafood steamboat at damansara jaya seafood village. ;)

Last weekend.
No words will be provided. Just pictures will do. A picture paints a thousand words. Thus, you will know what i've been up to. =)

Overall, i was very, very well fed over the two weekends. I feel so lucky. Hehe. Anyways, it's the weekend again, and i'm done with most of my major assignments. I'm left with American music major assignment, which i'm gonna start doing soon (no lar, not tomorrow). I so need to rejuvenate.

The ex-housemates (Jien Ann & E Jian) were reunited last nite. AT LAST. Finished two bottles of red wine with junk food while playing everyone's favourite cho dai di and the ever challenging Bridge game. I love playing Bridge, ever since the day my sis taught me how to play. And to my surprise, i found someone (Kai the dude) who knows how to play Bridge as well because not many people knows how to play the game.

So yes, rejuvenation is the way to go.

It's Sunday tomorrow. Yay, another day for me to rot/stone/rejuvenate.

*all smiles*

P.S.: Mummy, if you're reading this, i'm not scratching AT ALL. NOT EVEN A SINGLE BIT. *feels proud*

face.book.

Facebook - the current 'in' thing which everyone is talking about now. Actually it's not new, it's very popular in the States (that explains why my sis has a facebook account LONG time ago), and now it's only heating up in Malaysia, KL to be exact since this is the place i am currently residing now.

Facebook is definitely cooler than Friendster, to me at least. Perhaps i'm sick and tired and bored of that old Friendster already... and we can't really send testimonials to our friends in Friendster, we gotta send 'comments' instead, which i think is pretty lame. Oh well, at least there's facebook now.

5 good reasons why you should join Facebook:

1. It's COOL. Yes, the cool factor.

2. It's EXCLUSIVE. Exclusive in the sense that not EVERYONE on facebook can see your full profile/photo albums. It's not like Friendster where your 2nd-degree and 3rd-degree friends can view every single damn thing about yourself. Talking about exclusivity here. Who doesn't like to be exclusive once in a while? Heh.

3. You can poke your friends. Literally. It's cute. I've been poking my United States woman every now and then.

4. You can read the latest msgs from your friends' walls even though you are not in their homepage. Trust me, it's pretty cool because you don't have to waste time to go to every single friends' homepage.

5. Because it's relatively new. Heh. =P

So people, stop using Friendster anymore! For those of you who are into Facebook already, good for you! Add me! For those who haven't heard of Facebook or who doesn't have a Facebook account, please, for God's sake, go get one!

Facebook is the way to go.

No, don't worry, i'm not the advertiser/promoter for Facebook. They didn't hire me.

******

On an unrelated note, i still feel half awake right now considering the fact that i slept after 5am last night and woke up at 1pm this afternoon. I slept less than 8 hours i think. Didn't really sleep well because my brains were still very active after completing my assignment on imperialism. Yup, you heard it. It's imperialism. At least i feel happy now that everything is moving as scheduled. And boy, i realised i'm very determined and persistent when it comes to assignment. I won't know whether the sky is falling or the sun is melting because i'll be too engrossed with my assignment. Oh well, i think it's a good thing though.

p.s.: I can't bloody wait for Friday morning!!!
