2007 - The Year That Was

If I were to describe 2007 in a phrase, it would be this...

"Life is like a rollercoaster, there are a lot of twists and turns when you're unaware of."

It is true indeed. 2007, to me, was just like a rollercoaster. You know those kinda cockscrew rollercoaster where there are lots of corners and 360 degrees turns? Yup, that was 2007 to me. Eventful with loads of not-too-good dramas. =/

As i'm blogging right now, my twin is busy packing her stuff right here at her house. We'll be having a pyjamas party with lots of wine tonight, since this is the last time i'll be staying over at her house (she'll be moving to her new house next month!). I'm so gonna miss her current house because i've been coming over to her house for countless times since our primary school days. Oh well, i'm looking forward to going to her new house as well! ;)

Ok, back to the main topic - The Year That Was.

2007 has taught me a lot about life. Especially the vulnerable side of life.

Thank you 2007 for making me a stronger person.

2007 has taught me to value my family even more.

Thank you 2007 for making me a better daughter.

2007 has taught me not to take my life for granted.

Thank you 2007 for making me a better person in general.

2007 has taught me to value those who are dear to me.

Thank you 2007 for giving me a chance to appreciate the friendships and bonds i've made with the people whom are so dear to me.

Last but not least, 2007 has a lot of unforgettable memories. I guess 2007 would be in my mind forever, especially the memories which happened in 2007.

Thank you 2007, without You, i would have continue to take life for granted.

2008 is less than 48 hours away. I'm so looking forward to 2008. I believe 2008 would be a great year. (:

Wishing all of you out there a very blessed 2008 and good luck with your future endeavours. I'm sure you guys can't wait for the new year to come too. ;)

Till then, don't forget to party hard ok? =p

Bring it on, 2008!!!

O Holy Night

Tis the season to feast on roasted turkey and wine! Can't wait for tonight's christmas eve party at my place with the family friends. Teehee. This Christmas would be slightly different since the brother's in KL and the sister's in New York. I'm sure they would be having a good time as well.

Till then, enjoy the parties, the wine, the turkey, the feasting! And remember, spread the christmas spirit around you. Be good, and be safe this Christmas. ;)

Merry, merry Christmas! (:

one of life's greatest lessons

...is to be happy with what you have in life. No?

Males are always, if not most of the time chauvinistic. Yes, men and their damn bloody big ego. We just gotta learn to accept their flaws somehow. I still think women are nicer creatures. Heh.

Gotten a bouquet of blood red roses and daisies delievered right up to my doorstep yesterday while i was taking my afternoon nap. I dunno why but i seriously did feel better after seeing the bouquet of flowers lying down there on the dining table. (:

Guys like to buy our hearts with flowers, don't they?

He is damn good with his words. Touching and meaningful at the same time. Aww.

Seriously, the note touches my heart. Find it damn meaningful to the extent that i drove all the way to his house just to make him feel better and comfort him since he's down with food poisoning. I rarely drive alone at night and i actually didn't mind going all the way to his house after dinner. Yes, i was acting on impulse, but hey, love is all about doing the right thing at the right moment isn't it?

We are finally back to normal again, after our one-week break. He was hugging me like i'm his child last night, and from there, suddenly i felt i was really precious to him. I felt like i'm his little princess. And everything seems to be rosy once again.

Seize the moment and there shall be love again... (:

as the days go by

4 more days to Christmas. WOW... time flies. Time always fly when you're having a good time, either that or you're wasting too much time idling around. I would prefer myself to be in the first category though.

Spent some quality time with my woman few days ago. Had our usual sleepover (one more woman is missing because she's in the States) and girl talk till the wee hours in the morning. Again, we talked about our future, our problems, our life, our love life, our secrets, guys, and guys. Yes, basically anything and everything under the sun. We felt good after pouring out to each other. Nothing beats having a heart-to-heart talk with my woman. (:

I feel happy for my woman. (: From the way she talks about her current love, from the way she smiles from her heart, from the way her face glows in happiness, i can tell that she's very much in love and i guess she has found the love of her life. It's true when they say that if you've found the love of your life, time stops. Lucky woman. Just make sure you bring him back to JB as soon as possible! ;)

The next morning, we went for our must-have dim sum breakfast (yes, i somehow managed to wake up early). Both of us were sipping our hot chinese tea while chit-chatting away like nobody's business. I can foresee the both of us spending our time like this when we're hitting the middle-age crisis in future. Ain't a bad thing to do right? =p

After that, we had a late-lunch-cum-high-tea at a very cozy cafe which plays beautiful and calming christmas music in the background. Surprisingly, we felt the christmas atmosphere while we were dining at the cafe. Pretty cool. It actually brightens up my mood for a while. (:

They're well-known for their pastries and bread. Not that cheap though. =/ Oh yeah, it's called Niniq, "nee-nik".

Those were only our desserts. We had a main course each. Again, we ate like nobody's business. We ate so much partly because she has to remove her wisdom tooth the next day, and so we have another reason to feast! Haha!

***
Nobody can guess how I'm feeling right now. I am not feeling too good actually. Blame it on the relationship woes. Again, the male chauvinistic ego. Hate hate hate hate it. Are all males on earth this bloody chauvinistic?

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Perhaps it's true......

the life of a beach bum: part 1

Yes, i'm practically a beach bum. Addicted to the sun, sand and the sea. Perfect combination, good company, and a great escapade from the rainy and dusty Johor Bahru city. Was baked, but unfortunately wasn't baked till perfection. =/

Took too many photos. Will upload into my facebook account asap. Give me some time as normally at this time of the year, i'm super busy.

Will try my best to blog more about the Langkawi trip, since there are still like thousands of photos lying around somewhere in my laptop.

Give me sun, sand, and the sea anytime and i'll be a happy lil girl. (:

"The life of a beach bum." To be continued...

where is the sun?

Since two weeks ago, the sun has gone for a long, long holiday. Even though I don't like the feeling of being sticky and sweaty all over, I do miss the sun. Missing the sun rays a lot in fact. Feels like winter in Malaysia right now, or maybe... just in good ol' Johor Bahru.

Weather's been a b*tch. An annoying one. Argh.

And now, i can't help but wonder: "Is it gonna be like this in Langkawi?" =/

If only I have a remote control where i can just press a button and the next second, before you can even blink your eyes, the sun is shining all over again.

of skinny jeans galore and KFC

Seriously, Peninsula Plaza Shopping Centre in Singapore sells TOO MANY skinny jeans. Spent half of my afternoon there today. Was pretty shocking when i saw sooooooooooo many colours of skinny jeans they're selling. It's crazy. o.O Oh well, at least it's CHEAP. It was really a steal! (:

Bought black colour in the end as it is easier to match with other clothes of mine. It fits and at least it's tight. (:

Baggy jeans are a big NO-NO.

* * *

On a slightly related note, I'm a KFC-deprived child, for those of you who are still in the dark. Thus, the boyfriend took me to KFC (after my skinny jeans and his billabong boardshorts shopping) to satisfy my craving! Oh well, i'm deprived of KFC here because the health-conscious parents won't allow me to touch KFC chickens AT ALL. o.O

So i have to eat KFC behind the parents' back secretly. It's evil, i know.

Two words - Finger-lickin' good! =D

In the name of vanity

Okay, i guess it's time for me to do something in the name of vanity? Teehee.

"Mirror, mirror, on the wall, please make my eyes BIGGER..."

Did some magic to my eyes, of course, with the help of the essential black eyeliner. Yes, black. Blackest black. Oh-so-classic. (: This time, i decided to play around with my liquid eyeliner which i bought some time ago.

Fact: You need to have STEADY hands when it comes to applying liquid eyeliner. No joke.

Ain't perfect yet? Then practise! Practise, practise, practise. Practice makes perfect. It will be easy to apply once you get the hang out of it.

And there you are, the vainpot within myself. The proudly self-proclaimed vainpot she is (just because she got nothing else better to do).

On a totally unrelated note, I know what I did last Wednesday...

With Bernard, and two of his friends - Janice and Zhong Loon (i hope i got his name right -.-). The open-top bus ride was free, and so all of us just hopped onto the bus and enjoyed the christmasy atmosphere there, with the hundreds and hundreds of christmas lightings which were dangling just right above our heads. Pretty cool experience but i wasn't in any christmasy mood at that time...yet. Too early la.

SEVEN MORE DAYS TO GO!

Sunday, December 2, 2007

my favourite month of the year

It's the 2nd day of December today. December is the month where you take time out from your daily routine to reflect on the things you have done, the things you have not done, and the things you would want to get them done before another new year comes knocking on your door. December is the month where happiness, peace, and joy are literally filled in the air, wherever you go, wherever you may be.

Also not forgetting that December is the month where all the Christmas carols, Christmas decorations, Christmas light-ups, Santa Claus, Christmas shopping come alive! (: It's a month where you get the chance to soak up the Christmas spirit - the joy of giving and sharing. *winks

As always, the obligatory fake tree has already being set up at home, even though it is still like... 3 weeks more to Christmas?

It's definitely, undeniably the most wonderful time of the year where you get to gather with your close friends and loved ones. Welcome to my favourite month of the year! (:

P.S.: TEN MORE DAYS to Langkawi! WHEEEE.
