And the uni reopens again

And the first day was Media Law.

Very very very dry subject since we have to know all about the Australian legal system. Bleh.

I'm so used to the English Legal System (I did law during my A-levels). And now I gotta adjust myself to the Australian law?

Geez.

You know it's all good...

when there's retail therapy in your life! :D

Headed down to MidValley (yes, there's a MidValley here! But 10 times smaller than the MidValley in KL) today since it's one of the decent shopping centres around here in Gippsland.

Finally! Rubber skin for my black nano! And it's freaking cheap - 2 bucks. :)

Tube dress from Supre.

Was very tempted by all these cute lil penguins. Therefore I bought it. (:

Billabong flip flops to wear to class! And yes, classes officially start tomorrow. -.-

Wanted a cheap mud mask. Hopefully it's good. (:

Did grocery shopping at Coles too. Hopefully the stuff I bought from Coles will last me for 2 whole weeks. =/

P.S.: Currently hooked with Gossip Girl. :)

Gippy Gippsland

This is where my campus will be for the next one year.

Monash Gippsland. South East of Melbourne.

This is the most 'ulu' campus of all. 'Ulu' in a good way since it's very close to nature. Think flora and fauna.

So, so peaceful. Right?

It gets TOO peaceful and eerie after a while. LOL

Monash University paid more than AU$300 for the taxi to take us from Clayton to Gippsland. This is how far Gippsland is from the more urban areas of Melbourne. Go figure.

Greetings from Victoria, Australia.

Good day, mate!

I've been in Aussie land for one week already and it's all good. (: Weather's pretty cold here even though it's summer right now. -.- But i'm starting to get used to the weather here. I love the weather actually - sunny and cool. You can walk and walk and walk under the bright sun but you will never sweat. That's the best part. Haha.

Still trying to get used to the food here though. I MISS GOOD DECENT CHINESE FOOD! *whines

Staying overseas away from home for the first time is definitely a good and eye-opening experience. I'm pretty sure after this whole year i'll be a stronger person, both emotionally and physically. ;)

Been to a decent number of famous places : Federation Square, Lygon Street, Swanston Street, Crown Casino, Queen Victoria's Market, Melbourne's Chinatown, La Trobe Street, Yarra River, and a few parks which i've forgetten their names. -.-

Yes, i own the park. :D

See how strong the wind is? Can barely open my eyes.

At Yarra River. (:

Turn right, turn left. You decide.

This is Chinatown, Melbourne.

Is this "chinese enough"?

Strutting down Chinatown. Felt a small sense of belonging here. =p

Melbourne's tram.

Melbourne's yellow taxi.

Spotted in downtown Melbourne city.

Some really radiant-looking pretty flowers found in the park.

A picture-perfect moment. (:

On the other hand, I shall let the world to have a small peep into the room which i'll be staying for the next one year...

Empty room with my bloody heavy luggage.

Cosy bed. (:

The built-in desk, shelves and wardrobe. There's LOTS of storage space.

The ceiling-to-floor sliding window. Me loves!

For the time being, there's orientation for on-campus students at Gippsland here starting tomorrow. And oh, i'm still getting used to the fact that every single person I see here is an ang-moh - cashiers, waiters, waitress, security guards, shopkeepers, anyone. And yes, the aussie slang can be pretty strange to the ears. -.-

Ahh.... I do miss home though. But i guess i'm coping well enough. Till then, enjoy the rest of the CNY for those at home! (:

Goodbye Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia!

When there's a beginning, there's always an end.

However, an end is also a beginning of something new.

It's the end of my 3-months super long break in Malaysia.

And from tomorrow onwards, I will be in Melbourne for the next whole year.

I guess a change of environment is always a good thing.

At least to me though. :)

Feeling excited, anxious, and nervous at the same time. But i'm more excited than anything else. Teehee.

Will be leaving tonight, flying off from the new huge-ass Terminal 3 in Changi Airport. 11.15pm to be exact. Heh.

Till then, will be missing everybody and everything here in Malaysia and Singapore. Take care all of you! Stay tuned to my first post in Melbourne! ;)

There's always a time for everything. But for now, it's time to say goodbye.

Tata. (:

Rat-a-tat-tat

And yes, it's officially the Year of the Rat.

Since today's the very first day of the Lunar New Year, i am obliged to wish everyone here a very properous and blessed year ahead.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! GONG XI FA CAI!! :D

Been eating non-stop since i woke up this morning. I feel so.... stuffed. -.- And there's another open house by my dad's friend that we're going shortly after this. MORE FOOD. -.-

Oh well, not that i'm complaining about the abundance of food here, it's just TOO MUCH of good food in a day to the extent that i'm actually feeling guilty now.

Hah. =p

Since eating non-stop during this festive season is inevitable, i shall enjoy myself to the fullest then. *grins

Day Two, Day Three and Day Four! Bring it on!

*Could only celebrate 4 days of CNY this year as i'll be leaving on a jet plane on the 4th day!*

All in the name of vanity.

Since thousands and thousands of years ago, women emphasised a lot on their appearance - how they look on the outside. They do not mind spending ages drawing their eyes, slapping on several layers of powder on their already-porcelain face, putting on red hot coloured-lipstick, and of course the ultimate secret which is made known by many women today - having well-shaped eyebrows.

Having one of these perfectly-shaped eyebrows is a must. It helps to enhance one's appearance.

Normally, I have the habit of tweezing my eyebrows using my useful tweezer. I hate stray eyebrows. Eeeww. I tweeze every now and then whenever i see any stray hair growing out of my eyebrows. But then again, when I'm busy I tend to neglect them. And when this happens, I would opt for eyebrow-trimming professionals. Heh.

Today I was introduced to a totally different experience - eyebrow threading. My first time doing eyebrow threading, and I would describe it in one simple word - OUCH! The eyebrow specialist told me that I have very rough and thick eyebrows, plus the fact that it is my first time trying eyebrow threading, therefore it was much more painful for me. And she did upper-lip threading for me as well. It was so freaking painful that i teared a bit. I guess the level of pain that i can endure is very low. -.-

But heck, I have perfectly-shaped eyebrows now! And a very clean and hairless upper lip. =D

Yes, this is one thing I will always do in the name of vanity. Screw the pain, I want my perfectly-shaped eyebrows. ;)

****************

The boyfriend flew off to Perth, Australia this morning. Until now, he hasn't call me yet. =/

This is another phase of our LDR. It has always been a LDR for us. *sigh

I'm already starting to miss him like hell. How am I gonna cope with this till we can meet again? =(
