Once again, happy, happy birthday to the both of you!
And the 'American Idol' is...The grey-haired soul singer of Birmingham - Taylor Hicks, where Simon Cowell once compared him to a drunken dad at a wedding due to his raw singing style and goofy personality. No doubt, he's certainly an entertainer at heart. And boy, i'm so glad that he's living the American Dream. ;) And remember, grey hair doesn't hurt a bit. Taylor Hicks is indeed Taylor Hicks. He's just being himself where he oozes great characteristics and personality which nobody can ever imitate his style. I love watching his goofy and entertaining dance moves on stage. =)
By the way, i'm currently on unpaid leave today coz i'm gonna send my sis off at Changi Airport later in the afternoon. She's going to the States by the way. Lucky woman. Dad's gonna attend mass in Singapore later because according to the Roman Catholic calendar, today is the day where Jesus Christ ascended to heaven. So yeah, will attend mass in Singapore with my dad later. =)
p.s :
4 more working days to go before i quit my job!!!!! WHEE! Yes people, i'm seriously allergic to work. =P
All about "Bak Zhang" or Chinese Dumplings. The various essential ingredients you need :
Glutinous rice.
The main stuff which consists of dried mushrooms, pork, dried prawns and chestnuts.
Pandan leaves. Helps to enhance the fragrance.
Bamboo leaves. To wrap everything in it.
The correct method of wrapping :
This is how you should do. First put some rice, then put the meat, lastly put some rice again.
At a glance.
The old granny showing off her skills in making 'bak zhang'. She was actually concentrating while this photo was taken.
Busy, busy, busy.
The verdict :
Nicely-wrapped 'bak zhang'.
The art of 'bak zhang' making is not easy at all. It takes a lot of time, money and effort, and also not to forget, a passion for cooking as well.
I doubt i'm gonna learn how to make 'bak zhang'. Hahaha. =P
A day of "high-ness"Two things that gotten me high today :The first thing that made me high...The boyfriend.
He spent almost the whole day with me today. From 1.30pm till 10.30pm. Shiok-ness. :) Went to a few places with him today... Holiday Plaza to buy his CDs, a pet shop in Sentosa to buy dog shampoo for his dogs, and Danga Bay after dinner with my family at my house. How sweet right? No doubt, he's the sweetest boyfriend for today in the whole universe.
Hehe. ;)
The second thing that made me high...THIS!!!!! BAK KUT TEH!!! The best bak kut teh i've ever tried in JB! At Taman Century... highly recommended by the boyfriend. Hehehe.
The boyfriend told me that the correct way to eat 'you tiao' is to dip it inside the hot soup. Well, you guys can try it... but i still prefer to eat the 'you tiao' as it is without any soup dipping. Haha.
*drools*
Don't you think it's pretty easy for me to get high? LOL.
I feel good. (:Yesterday was great. Great as in
G-R-E-A-T ok! =) Went out to Singapore around 11.30am but the Singapore Checkpoint was packed with people. So in the end, i reached the boyfriend's poly at around 1.30pm. We had McD for lunch. The chicken Fantastic burger sucks. It's just not my cup of tea coz it's mushroom-flavoured rice. Bleh...
Met up with the boyfriend at Singapore Poly. He just finished his architecturial presentation. An architect wannabe. And boy, i was kinda impressed by the model done by his group. Like i said before, architecture is a killer man.
Me and the boyfriend. ;)
Irwin and his classmates...together with their model. Pretty cool i would say. Good job, baby!
After lunch at Mcd at his poly, we went back to his room at Dover. Saw his brand new Acer laptop. Cool~ Intel Duo Core Processor man. The boyfriend is happy with his laptop so good for him. Haha. =P He packed his bag and laptop and a cake. A nice delicious chocolatey cake from Hyatt. The cake was a birthday present from his ex actually.
His ex gave him this. How sweet right? Made me realize what a lousy girlfriend i am coz i don't even know how to bake a cake! =P
At 6pm, we finally reached Chapter 2 at Bugis Village. Chapter 2 is the name of a hair salon along Victoria Street, Bugis Village. My sister gave me a S$20 voucher, that's why i'm fortunate enough to have a haircut in Singapore for the very first time. I still have to pay S$5 more coz the price of a haircut is actually S$25. So bloody expensive if you convert it into ringgit. Anyway and anyhow, i would like to give a big shoutout to my sister -
THANKS A BILLION FOR THAT VOUCHER!! (: I looked as though i have short hair right? Actually no... just that it's layered... Hehe.
Kinda blur, but nevermind. =P
Oh, by the way, we were having dinner at Terra Cafe @ Bugis Junction. Just the two of us. XD
Stirring my tea. I think i look scary here.
This is our main course - savoury baked rice with smoked salmon. We ordered the same dinner set meal which comes with clam soup, tea/coffee, a main course and ice-cream. I chose the raspberry-flavoured ice-cream. He chose the butterscotch-flavoured ice-cream. But however, his ice-cream sucked. =P
The boyfriend. (:
Hehe
After dinner, we walked around Bugis Junction for a while. Then the boyfriend treated me to Coffee Bean coz he promised to. Hehe. Had this ice-blended mango with black tea. Sweet and bitter at the same time. Quite a unique taste after all. Hehe. I can't wait to go back to Bugis Junction at night with the boyfriend again. Aww...
In the end, we took the Singapore-Johor Express bus back to Johor Bahru. What a lovely day. What a nice trip. Can't wait to spend time with the boyfriend in Singapore again. I love spending time with him in Singapore coz it's an open-minded country. At least, it's more open-minded compared to Malaysia. I can hug and kiss and cling onto him whenever i like when we're in Singapore. Hehehe!
*evil grins*
Till then, i can predict a good weekend. This week is fantabulous man coz i have 4 off days - yesterday (annual leave), today (wesak day), saturday and sunday (off-days). Whee! I feel good. I feel happy. I'm a happy girl. :)
Oh yes, i can also predict that tomorrow will be a great day for me as well. Hehe!
HAPPY 32 MONTHS ANNIVERSARY BABY...CHEERS TO US! (:
I love retail therapy.Went to
Tebrau City with
Jean today... it was slightly different this time as i was the one driving. Hehe. We had mee hoon kueh for lunch at pelangi around 12 noon... and then headed to Tebrau City right after our lunch. Surprisingly, i was able to find a parking space pretty easily without much effort (something to be proud of...heh). Jean wanted to buy something for her darling, Jeff. And so, being the 'shopaholic', i told her to go to THIS PARTICULAR SHOP (can't mention it here though, for security purposes, HAHA) to look for one. I'm not really a shopaholic lar. Hehe. =P
Jean was busy looking around the shops for job vacancies. So cute. Hehe. The Sony Concept Store asked her to work on this coming Wednesday, we were kinda shocked when the manager told her this piece of news. Haha. It's all up to her, whether she wants to work there. Hopefully i'm able to get a good discount if i decide to buy the Sony Vaio laptop. =P
Jean, i wanna buy the Sony Vaio laptop at staff rate... remember! What did i get for myself today?
AN MNG BASICS RACER-BACK TOP in
brownish dark green colour (more like dark gold colour actually). Looks kinda classy. I like! ;) Jean bought the same top as me except that hers was in light green colour. We will both wear it together on one fine day... to kl right, Jean? Hehe.
It's simple yet classy. MNG Barcelona. ;)
Tomorrow will be my parents' wedding anniversary. But we've already celebrated it as a family last night at New Lucky. Food was great but somehow i wasn't in the mood to enjoy the dinner. Anyway, my family enjoyed the dinner a lot, which is good. Just my luck to have such a terrible headache for the whole day yesterday. Eeeesssh...
My parents.
Having a good dinner with your family is the most blessed thing on earth. I thank God for my family, always and forever. :)
Chilli crab. This crab looks like a human being with his legs being turned upside down. Pretty funny i would say. Hehe.
No work for me tomorrow. Thanks be to God. ;) Will be giving Tiger a good scrub tomorrow morning and then will follow Jean to her dentist after that. Haha. Might do scaling tomorrow at her dentist, depends on the price. Hehe.
Take a look at the calendar in my office! Hehehe! Notice my LAST DAY of work? lol.
A less wordy post
