i'm gonna miss you

Specially dedicated to the smart-ass high-achiever sister of mine:

The Lims are very, very proud of you!

And yes, she is my sister, 3 years older than me, and is also 3 times smarter than me. As i'm blogging about her right now, she is already in the States. She'll be doing her PhD in pathology at one of the prestigious medical schools over there. If only i have her brains.......

*jealousy kicks in

Anyway, da jie, if you're reading this, don't miss home too much, don't miss us too much, don't miss mummy's cooking too much and most importantly, make sure you get that LeSportSac bag for me next year! A cosmetic bag is just not enough for me! Teeeheee.

Sisters for life. (:

Even though i'm not as smart as her, i'm still gonna miss her.

I know you're gonna miss me too. *winks

hey there delilah

Excuse me but just let me be random here.

I'm starting to feel guilty for not starting on any assignments yet.

I miss him terribly. So much that i actually bathed in his Shokubutsu Orange shower foam last night just to get a sniff of his smell. FYI, Shokubutsu is my least favourite choice of shower foam but i didn't care last night just because i need to smell him. I really need to. I miss his scent lingering on my skin.

I miss you, baby.

To make things sound less emo, i was at this Monash student exchange and transfer programme talk a few hours ago. Which sets me thinking: "How is my 2008 gonna be?" And also, it led me to the thought that i have only a few more months left with the boyfriend as he's leaving for Australia next year. I have a slight hunch that 2008 is gonna be a tough year. Oh well, whatever will be...will be.

I think i should stop my ramblings now and get started on my presentation for next week. *grumbles

Yes, women need to grumble, sometimes.

My favourite song at the moment: Hey there Delilah by Plain White T's. He sang this song to me last night, at my request. (:

And oh, i've finished watching Sex and The City Season 6. I like Carrie Bradshaw, her shoes are oh-so-gorgeous! (: Now i have an urge to go shoe-shopping... yikes.

Till then, will be blogging again, very very soon. ;)

a korean affair

Last night, my woman decided to pay me a visit. (: And yes, a belated birthday treat from her at a famous Korean BBQ Restaurant in Taipan. We were supposed to go for the Shogun Japanese Buffet Restaurant at 1U but it was kinda late as that place was already fully-booked. So we dropped by Taipan to get a taste of Korean BBQ.

Not our first time eating Korean food though. But i can say, this restaurant serves pretty good Korean cuisine. And the best part was that we could refill our side-dishes again and again. And boy, we were so darn full after dinner last night. I love eating with my woman. (:

Their service was excellent. The korean boss even sent us to the lift and bowed to us and said 'goodbye'! Their chef is a korean too, talking about authenticity. Heh.

Our side-dishes where they provide us with FREE refills. Notice the word 'FREE'? =) By the way, their kimchi was good.

We ordered hand-filleted pork ribs. The waiter helped us to bbq the meat, therefore we just sat down there and watched him cook in front of us. When the meat's cooked, the waiter sliced it into thin pieces and placed it on a plate for us to savour. Deliciousssssssss!

*drools*

Besides the BBQ, we ordered 1 main dish each. I had the popular beef ribs soup and it was totally orgasmic! My woman had the spicy korean seafood and beancurd soup. Not bad as well!

We spent more than 2 hours eating and chatting at the restaurant. By the way, the korean tea they served us wasn't my cup of tea. Bleh, tasted like brown rice. o.O I had cold water in the end as i couldn't stand the brown rice taste in my tea.

My woman stayed over at my place for the night. Showed her the gathering pictures which she had missed. As usual, lots of giggling, laughter, and jokes were splattered around in my cosy lil room. Not to forget our ritual - heart-to-heart-talks/girl-talk while lying on my bed. (:

And since she just came back from London not too long ago, she bought me a souvenir which is so like me. A Red Hot Bikini! Now, i can't wait to try out this hot piece of bikini on a white sandy beach... Teeeeheeee.

Another bikini to add to my swimsuit/bikini collection! (:

Don't mind me please. I was happy, therefore i decided to camwhore a bit.

P.S.: I know this would sound kinda lesbian-ish, but i must say this... I LOVE YOU WOMAN!

and now it's the end of Week 3.

oHow time flies. It has been 3 eventful weeks since the start of my 2nd year in Monash. So far so good, good in the sense that i've enjoyed myself throughout the last 3 weeks, and yes, i've not touched my readings (expect for the COM2411 reader)... yet.

Bleh.

I guess it's time to introduce the subjects i'm taking this semester, and please, don't get too jealous. Teeeeheeee.

1. Media, Culture, Power (COM2411/3411).
- Mainly deals with the big idea of what constitutes "culture" between the two big opponents - the idealist and the materialist, and how and why the media has a great influence on "culture".
- Culture with a capital C.
- Dr. Yeoh is still Dr. Yeoh. I think his lectures are pretty cool.

2. Radio and Television Journalism (JRN2907).
- Met the coolest lecturer ever. He's a radio jockey on Traxx fm (M'sia's non-format radio station) which goes by the nickname of Double D and he's also a regular disc jockey at Sanctuary Bar @ The Curve. Many many exciting and interesting facts about radio were being told by him, since he's experienced when it comes to the entertainment industry. As i'm refreshing my memory right now, his most memorable moment on earth was the time when he interviewed Michael Schumacher, one of the most famous F1 drivers in history, and also the time when he managed to conduct an interview with our ex-Prime Minster, Dr. Tun Mahathir Mohammad.
- Yes, as you can see, he's the coolest lecturer so far.
- 100% based on assignments, means there's no final exam for this unit. Sounds like a good deal, ain't it?
- I'm definitely not a fan of radio-tuning in Malaysia. I dislike tuning into M'sian radio, the only time i listen to M'sian radio is when i'm stuck in some annoying traffic jam in PJ/KL. However, i do miss tuning into my all-time favourite radio station - 987 fm. It's a Singapore radio station by the way, and it's like 100 times better than the top radio station in Malaysia. I'm sorry i have to say this, but it's true.

3. Global Cultures, Local Traditions - creating, consuming (popular) culture (INT2060/3060).
- Sounds interesting huh? Of course it is! Just that the readings can be pretty difficult to comprehend.
- Miss Sheila is our lecturer once again. She taught me feature writing during my 1st year.
- This is all about how globalization changes our culture and how certain local traditions are untouched by globalization.

4. Contemporary Television Studies (FTV1010).
- 1st ang-moh lecturer - Benjamin Mckay.
- He's interesting, has a sense of humour, and has a thick Australian accent.
- This subject is damn freaking cool because we get to watch dramas/soaps/films during lectures. And oh, they showed my all-time favourite soap opera - Desperate Housewives during the previous lecture and they're gonna air Sex and The City next week! I like Sex and The City too! Wheeeee.

*****

My twin came here to pay me a visit two days ago, and spent two nights with me. (: Too bad she didn't join me at Luna Bar last night. =/ And speaking about Luna Bar, it IS better than Sky Bar. The place is bigger and has two sections - outdoor and indoor area. Yes, the swimming pool is also bigger than the one at Sky Bar. And oh, i had long island tea by the way. ;)

I just wrote down all the assignment deadlines on my desk calendar. Boy, i can start feeling the stress already. o.O I have practically one or more assignments each week starting from the week after next. Not to forget the presentations as well... Man...

Finally met up with my woman who came back from her exchange programme in London last night. Had good japanese food at Zen Restaurant @ Sunway Pyramid with her and her housemates. Will be meeting her again this weekend. Can't wait! (:

And i'm starting to miss my family... =/
